Woo-hoo!
I was sure I had bad Cats- Bucking, poor acceleration, and the cats were glowing red on my '95, and I had NO codes after running the test 2 prior over about a 3 week period. I had stopped driving it for a while, and I was about to order a new Y-Pipe last week, but decided to pull the codes one more time on Wednesday.
Got a 215 on KOEO, 224 on KOER.
Went to the junkyard on Friday, pulled a DIS, and swapped it in last night. Running like a champ!
I never would have thought a bad DIS would get the cats so hot without throwing codes for so long (it's been acting up for a few weeks, getting progressively worse).
So make sure to be persistent about reading your codes before springing for the expensive stuff!
And if you think you are having catalytic converter problems and don't have codes, try a spare / J-yard DIS instead.
