Hello folks
I'm new to this SHO area and have run into a perplexing problem.
The engine would quit at highway speeds and start again immediatly on it's own. Then the vehicle would quit and it would eventually start after about 10-15min. Then one day it died and wouldn't start at all.
The fuel pump energizes when the key is turned.I pulled a spark plug and grounded it and turned the ignition and there was no spark.
I know there is a crank positioning sensor and cam sensors and the possibility it could be the ignition module.
With the situation I descibed above I would appreciate someones best guess as to the area to investigate first. Also if it could be an ignition module can they be pulled and bench tested at a shop as the car is in my driveway and I don't want to invest $185 only to find out that's not the problem. Thank you

Welcome to the forum. thumb Your problem is most likely a bad CPS like hunter said. Check the codes. If it throws a 212 or 214 (can't remember it's late) that's your problem. If i were you i'd try to do it myself because a shop will charge a lot of $$$. Good luck.

Get a code reader. Read the codes with the ignition on. If you get a code that says PIP then it is ths crank position sensor.
You have to take the timing belt cover off an work through the right front wheel well.
It isn't hard but takes some time.
Goodluck.
