Wont start no spark HELP!!!! Is there anywhere I can send the ingnition module off for testing to see if it is good or bad. I tried Auto Zone but they could not do it. I dont want to gamble of 140.00 part. Other ideas about what could keep car from throwing spark. EECIV? Crank sensor? cam sensor? if so How do I test these? I looked in chiltons but it just shows removal of these items not troubleshooting. Oh BTW 93 5spd. THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!

While cranking, look to see if the check engine light goes OUT or stays ON. If it goes out while cranking the EEC is recieving the PIP signal. If it stays on you're most likely looking at a crank sensor.

The best thing to do is buy a code reader, and check the codes. This will come in handy in the future, and help you with your problem now. There are many things that could cause your SHO not to start. It could be your CPS, or it could be a list of other things. Did the car run well, then one day you go to start it and there was no spark? Has this happened before and now it's dead?

Also, if the clutch switch doesn't work, will it crank but not spark?

I'd also second checking the codes. How do you know it's not sparking?

goodluck!

A failed clutch switch will render a no crank condition.

You can test your ignition relay module by removing the plastic cover showing belt alignments and whatnot(The module is underneath). Tap on it with a screwdriver( not soft, but not hard enough to break the plastic) while cranking. If it starts you have found your defective part. Just a suggestion of course...

Do a search for testing the DIS (distributorless ignition system). The simple DMM (digital multi-meter) and LED light probe tests include testing the coil packs, CPS, CID, etc. Do these test before you start replacing parts unnecessarily! rangerj

yeah definately don't just start buying parts because it gets real expensive real quick.

$140? mine was 100 at auto zone and it wasn't even bad :( I learned the hard was don't do the same.
