New CMP is in. Test drove for 30 minutes. Car died AGAIN. I let it idle in the driveway for a while after my test drive and as soon as I touched the gas pedal it stumbled and died.SHO--ripper:
I think your problem isn't fuel related. I think you need a new CMP.
Restarted the car, tried to give it some gas, it sputtered and died. Drove it to the end of the street, same problems as I described at the start of this topic.
headbang
Since I've now replaced every damn SENSOR on this car I am left with no other route to go than Fuel Pressure Regulator.
If the FPR malfuntions and bleeds off all the fuel pressure that should explain my problem correct?
I understand that the FPR acts as a "dam" at the end of the fuel rail, just before the return line and maintains a constant fuel pressure in the rail. Soooo... if the FPR is shot and stays in the "open" position it would bleed off too much pressure. Further, since the FPR uses vacuum to operate properly, the higher RPMs are forcing it to operate somewhat properly due to higher vacuum pressure, but when the car slows and RPM drops, the FPR fails to maintain pressure. I am assuming here that the heat is exagerating this problem.
How about that for my theory?
I will try to get my hands on a fuel press. gauge soon, but I am running out of money to throw at this thing.
For the record, what should my fuel pressure be at the rail both at idle and under throttle? And how about with the FPR vacuum line removed and plugged?
shrug
keep em coming guys...
