Hey, where could i find the wireing harness for my stereo in my 89 SHO. I cant seem to find it anywhere. I waisted money on the one from walmart and it didnt work. Also someone told me that the stock head unit was a "dead head" meaning that it has no amp to power the interior speakers since it has the JBL amp in the back, is that true and if it is can i use a stereo that has an amp in it? Thanks

I've never heard the term "dead head" used in relation to car audio. However, the description holds true. The stock JBL head units are preamp only units. The amplifiers are located in the trunk behind the back seat.

The Walmart harness will work for the power to the head unit, but the speaker harness won't have anything to hook into

You have basically 2 options when adding a new head unit.
1) Use the preamp outputs of your head unit to run the factory amps
2) bypass the factory amps (and thereby loose the factory subwoofers)

I have an adapter that I can sell you if you want to go the preamp route, if you want to go the other way, you need to get the amplifier bypass harness from circuit ****** or crutchfield or someplace like that.
