Yes, but...

Check to see if the '92 radiator has the fittings for the ATX tranny cooler lines. That would be the only concern.

If I'm not mistaken the only difference is the fan/fan's the radiator is the same.

I think:shrug:

I'll check that.. but just wondering could it still b clogged or rusted if the antifreeze is really green with no sign of rust or anything? and another thing is the ECT sensor is not my problem i checked it with a really expensive scanner and it showed that it's working so im guessing radiator..

How about the thermostat?

When you play guessing games its better to go with the easiest/cheapest to start with.

Checked the thermostat and it's opening up so what now? i've narrowed down that the ECT sensor is working, fan's coming on,thermostat is working.. Now what? still overheating is slow traffic or at long drive thru's but cool's down when driving speed's... If the radiator is next how could i find out for sure that it's clogged? and does anyone know for sure if one from a 92 MTX will fit my 94ATX?

Bad/old coolant can also do that , if not go with the rad. As for fitment MTX/ATX, Mr.A nailed it.

as already stated twice in this thread, YES, the radiator will fit
the mtx radiator should have caps where the atx cooler fittings go,
just pop them off and swap the fittings off the atx rad onto the mtx rad

Let me guess . . . .

. . . . you still haven't had the TEMP gauge checked or validated it is overheating with a mechanical Temperature gauge or infrared thermometer, when you think it is overheating . . . .

i had everything electrical checked that showed all the volt's the sensors were getting and how much they needed to be gettign to be working and all was fine.. thats why the radiator is my last choice

It will fit, but if it's the original in your 92, it won't have the fittings for the trans cooler..... just run an aftermarket cooler if that's the case.....

Would a coolent pressure tester help find out if my radiator is clogged?

No. But if you take off the upper and lower hoses and try to run water or high pressure air through it, you may have a better idea. Is the cooling fan coming on at the right time? Are both fans working? Is coolant flowing through the heater core (do you get heat out of the vents?) Is your water pump pumping? Are all of the fins on your A/C condenser flattened out, not allowing any air to get to the radiator? Are you SURE the t-stat is opening? Have your checked the boiling/freezing point of your coolant (cheap tool at autozone)? Are both temp. sensors working correctly? There are many different reasons a car could overheat, just stating a few....

It's the littlle things

I put a base Taurus radiator in my 94 SHO ATX, and everything was identical EXCEPT! the tranny coolant fittings. The base Taurus used smaller fittings.

I modified mine to use the bigger SHO fittings.

Ive had this exact problem for a long while and am curious to what fixes yours. Only overheats in stop and go traffic and in drive through's. Freeway or open driving and its fine. Replaced ECT, thermostat etc. etc. just not the radiator yet. Hope you find the solution to the problem your looking for.

also try to blow out the radiator and air conditioning condenser out with low pressure air (25 to 35 lb ),

and are both fan running ? when you do the code test

Car has 135,000 miles.. i believe the 60K was done but i've only owned the car for a few months now.. when the car is started with the cap open the water goes down and if you give the car some gas the water will go down everytime but come back up.. this mean the pump is working fine right? and yes i believe both fan's are running when the test is done.. i don't quite understand what you said to do about the radiator and air conditioning condenser..
