so after the car has sat for a good 6hours plus. the sterring has a stiff spot dead center. put in steering effort to pass the point then it passes it and kind jerks. after going back and forth a few times and driving for 5 mins its good to go.?? speed does not matter 2 mph or 100mph.
93 sho 3.2 atx??
fluid is topped up and clean no air bubbles. power steering pump is as quiet as can be etc.

You can actually hear the stiff spot. Makes light clunck/groan sound. Car also only has 140 000kms.

pull the tie rod ends off the spindle to isolate it to rack or strut/top bearing plate, ball joints etc..
to test steering free movement of the strut with weight on the suspension, remove the tie rod and place a "grease sandwich" under the wheel.
the wheel can be turned l-r with moderate effort.
you can make a grease sandwich out of almost anything, I have used 2 parts of a bleach bottle with grease between them. scrap metal, whatever.

you could try that, but it will unload most of the suspension components, possibly creating different results.
you could also do the grease sandwiches with the tie rods still attached.

Perfect thanks. Now the only reason i think its not suspension related is because it goes away after a few minutes of driving.

I believe that is a rack issue. My red 94 had that type of issue where it couldn't decide how much boost to apply so it seemed like stiff spots in the steering. I think it is due to a bad sensor on the input shaft to the rack.
