Wierd Door Ajar problem

Hi,
Since this afternoon, for the first time, the door ajar light stays ON, but the interior lamps are OFF . The lights turns on when I open everydoor execpt the rear passenger door.
Is this a bad switch ?

sounds like you need a jamb switch for the rear passenger door and also a door ajar switch for one of the front door handles...to avoid any confusion these switches are NOT the same...the door ajar switch bolts to the door handle inside the door and the jamb switch screws into the pillar and makes contact with the door...

My Father In Law, has the same problem with his 95 ATX tabernac.

To get to the door ajar switch, I need to take the door panel off ? its on the handle itself or on the lock mecanism ?

btw, its spelled Tabarnak

Try a search on the door ajar, You more than likely don't need to get a new one just need to free that one up.

anyways, the door ajar switch is in the latch mechanism...i replaced the latch and actuator assembly in my 93 atx passenger front door, and because i got the part from a regular taurus, it didnt have anywhere for one lonely wire to connect...so the door ajar light does not come on when the pass. door is open.

nice! so I'll try to clean it tomorrow with some WD-40 see if it change something.
