Why are my LEDs blue?!

Hey everyone, this is my first post, even though I've been reading you guys for almost a year now.

I bought my 2013 SHO in October last year and ever since I had it, the LED in the front bumper didn't work, which didn't really bothered me. Last Monday, I went at my friend's shop to get my downpipes installed and while the vehicle was on the lift, I could see the connector of the driver side LED wasn't plugged in, so I plugged it in and eureka!, the light worked. However, the passenger side one was plugged and it didn't.

So Today, I removed the front bumper to have a look at it. Both connectors had corrosion in them so I cleaned them with an electrical connector cleaner, let everything dry, plugged everything and now... the LEDs are blue! The passenger side one halfway between white and blue while the other one is as blue as it can get.

I went to the drag strip on Thursday and as you can see on the picture they took, the driver side LED was working correctly at that time.

What did I do wrong? Do you guys think I messed them up when I cleaned the connectors?

One thing that maybe happened is the corroded connection is limiting the circuit from flowing enough current and, at reduced current, the color temperature of the LEDs is higher. I can't say I've ever experienced that phenomena with white LEDs, but in addition to having a blue hue, it also seems to have reduced intensity.

The only other thing I can think of is that the LEDs in the strip are actually RGB LEDs and for some reason the connection for the red and green elements is intermittent.

Thank you for your input. I'll have a look at the connectors, maybe try cleaning them again see if it helps.

Caig DeOxit was/is quite popular with audiophiles for RCA connectors. So def give it a go!

Unfortunately we don't have DeOxit in Canada... but I did find something called Nexxtech at The Source (Canada's RadioShack). I'll probably give it a try.

No idea on the color change, but dab some di electric grease on those terminals before you plug back in. All the manufacturers recommend we put that shit on everything that shows signs of corrosion.
