Well, I have been gazing around at the forums and I've seen a few mentions of people who believe their struts are shot. If we've got a few (maybe 10?) we might look into a group buy on struts. Just a thought, LMK what you think and if I get truly adventurous I'll ask one of the vendors how many we might need. Right now it's just a thought but if I get a few replies I'll see what can be done.

Here's a current price list from each vendor for 4 Koni's so that even if we don't get a group buy you know where the cheapest place is
wink.gif

IPTech: $540
SPMotorsports: $559
CincySHO: $600
SHOshop: $628
shox: $532 FREE SHIPPING
I'm sure I missed some so please post the best deal you can find!

***EDIT***Quote from shox.com came in at $532 with free shipping and that's to anywhere in the US...OR canada! So far the lowest price I have found! And they also said that the eibach lowering kit is $220, I wasn't looking to lower but I'm sure some are.

ok, this might be far fetched because of the price, can we get a coil over group buy going with shawn? my suspension is crap, but is i am spending 800-900 for new struts and springs, why not spend the extra couple hundered for coil overs with koni inserts. thank you

IPT coil-overs with konis are $1350. Sorry but that's enough for an LSD AND konis! If there is intrest in the coil-vers I will ask but I think our best bet is just koni inserts. I think items up to $500 are doable for a group buy (e.g. Y-pipe) but more is getting too rich for most people.

I sent off an email to IPT I'll let you know as soon as I hear something.

i figured it would be expensive for most. the benefits for the coil over just for the extra few hundred is just well worth it to me. its not like i can pull 1350 out my azz, but i coule do it over a couple weeks by putting things off and only paying the minimum for a month or two. if we could just get 3to 5 people to do it, i am sure shawn would hook us up with some sort of deal. thank you.

I need struts like yesterday, too. But i did see on www.driverfx.com where they have Tokico gas performance struts for the front for $122.07. I'm just not sure if it's for the pair or just one.

I am going to be buying struts, lemme know what route you guys decide to go. I am not going to need them until spring, so there is no rush. I live in Canada so that free shipping to Canada would work out great for me.

I'm game for a Koni-Eibach set up since my rear suspesion is allowing massive bump steer right now. Let me know if you get something going. Also out of curiosity with the upgraded springs and struts what does everyone do for shocks?

Do Koni look just like stock when you put them in the stock housing?

a coil over kit mounts to the outside of your strut. its a threaded collar with a nut on it, the spring rests on the nut. this allows you to lower or raise your suspension to whatever height you want( i think it will drop it up to 4 ") this way you can lower your car in the summer or auto cross events and raise it in the winter. it also comes with your choice of spring rate so you can get a softer or firmer ride. its an extra $600 over the koni/eibach set up, this is with the koni inserts installed, but the benefits are incredible. if you drive real hard, compete or just like the best of everything, the coil over is the best way to go IMHO

I am currently looking to buy some struts and springs. I posted at the coilover topic but koni's an eibach's intrigue me as well. I'm not in a rush so it doesn't have to be right now. I kind of need to save up anyways because I am finishing my 60K and getting my pp y-pipe.

I'm in the market for new struts. I was thinking of Tokicos myself. But if Konis aren't too bad I could be interested. The thing is, Konis involve labor to install the inserts into your stock housings correct? If Konis are easy or come preinstalled that would be real reassuring. Also how difficult is it to adjust them?, because I was thinking of minimum stiffness (like Tokicos), because to daily drivers ride is more important than handling.
