I have an Alpine head unit, CDA-7863. 60 watts x 4, and an Alpine 7-band E.Q. model 3217..(old school, I know).
And I also have a pioneer FH-P 4400 40 watts x 4..
The Pioneer is a double DIN (large), while the Alpine is a single DIN.
I have enough room for either, which do you guys think is the better stereo?
The Pioneer was $550.00 new. The Alpine was $240.00 new.
I am leaning towards the Alpine/E.Q. set-up. Probably easier to install, and
I am sure both Alpines will be plug-n-play. BUT... The Pioneer WAS top of
the line when new........ Any suggestions?:thankyou:

Both of them will be "plug and play" with the right wiring harness and amp bypass. Basically it boils down to which looks better. And IIRC, double DIN setups are a little more difficult to pull off in the SHO because of that seperater right there in the DIN slot.

I'd go with the Alpine, myself...that's just cuz Pioneer is Wal-Mart brand.

I was leaning towards the alpines, simply because the seperates can be installed much more
easily. Plus, 60x4 is better than 40x4... And the alpines won't need a harness to connect them together. ( I already tried ).
