Hi,
I'm about to replace the fuel pump in my '89 SHO. I purchased one from Autozone, a direct replacement it saids.($78.00 pump+sock filter)
My question: At ShoTimes, the fuel pump replacement article states that a Mustang '85-'97 fuel pump will do just fine. I'm wondering what Mustang engine fuel pump its refering to? Would it be one for the v6 or v8 Mustang? I was just wondering for clarifications sake. Are the 'Stang pumps higher flow? I don't plan on "hopping-up" my SHO so this Autozone fuel pump should do just fine. Now, hopefully it'll fix my no-start problem. Well, my SHO will start sometimes(rarely), and when it does, runs for about 5 sec's then shuts down.
I already did the work to correct the "oil in the plugs wells" fix, hoping that was the root cause of my no-start/no-run. No dice.
Ah well, hopefully I can get this "gal-friend named SHO" up and running again.
You all take care,
JimB
