well i just wanted everyones opinion.......stock tails or custom tails?





i think i may stay with stock but once its warmer out ill throw some nightshade on them.......LMK what ya'll think!

i had the custom ones on for about 6 months and now that i got the new exhaust tips, they just didnt look right, so i had to go back to stock, im gonna throw some nightshade on them plus get some tints and it will look 100x better!

BTW jonny do u have any instructions on how to paint the slicers? im lookin to change them from silver to the graphite!

Really easy actually. What I did was got some 220 grit, and some 320 grit. Started with the 220 then spray can primed them. Wait for the primer to dry fully..then went over them lightly with the 320. ( use 400 instead )

Then I just sprayed away. I only used one coat of the graphite because I was impatient to let the paint cure, and the paint covers the primer very well. I waited for them to fully cure, and then I slapeed on 1 coat of clear. That duplicolor clear sucks because if you apply more than one coat it will flash. One coat of each came out awsome.

Depending how dark you want the base to be you can use white, grey, or black primer.
I would get 2 cans of primer, and 3 finish to be safe. Dont forget to do the whole rim and once the paint starts to settle, dont go over it again until it fully cures. If you do they will flash.

I say stock with Niteshade. Then we'll have twins except for the exhaust tips. I have a green Yamaha badge and filled in bumper letters in copper (a bit darker than yours tho) too.

If you get Duplicolour's wheel paint all you have to do is sand it quickly and paint. I sanded mine a bit to get the stock clear off and 3 coats of paint and 2 coats of clear. No need to take your tires off, just mask them off with newspaper.

heres an easy little help tip-
Take a can of Spray on or GEL(works better) Tire wet and apply on tire....
Wrap electrical tape around valve stem
And spray....
The tire wet will allow you to wipe off all excess paint that got on the tire.
My boyfriend used it on his and it worked great.
you can use this for both sides of the tire. Just remember to spray off the tire wet before you get on the road b/c it can be a little slick if its on the bottem of your tire

And i would stick with the stock tail lights.

You'll finish all the hard work of prepping and painting the rims, then the TG (Tire Guy) will chip them to death when he's mounting the new tires.

My boyfriend had painted them before he had the new tires put on, and they didnt do damage. I guess you have to find the right person to put them on...

I believe he's going to leave the outer lip unpainted anyway, so it doesn't even matter if the tire is on or off.

.... hahaha. What can I say.. Im so smart.

Considering Ive done 3 sets without tires, and came off the tire machine flawless. If they can mount 20" rims with a 4" polished lip, Im sure they can handle a 16" wheel without chipping the paint.

FYI... The lip that actually rubs againt the front side of the rim on the tire machine is rubber. The machines are MADE to mount tires without scratching.. Town Fair tire has all the brand new eqipment, and theres usually one guy in there that can mount tires without even touching the face.

if you wernet considering ovals i migiht like it more. ovals are for the g3 not g2. perhaps something corners, not completely squared but not ovals. something more trapezoidal, to match the reverse lights. im no photoshopper but i can mspaint very poorly!
