Where's your temp gauge usually at?
I was just wondering this because it seems like my car runs better when the temp gauge is at about half. The problem is that it only reaches half after driving it for at least 30 or 40 miles. Are your gauges at around half all the time, cause i'm starting to think that maybe if i changed my thermostat it would help. But its just a thought, thanks for any feedback

Thats about the area, it varies a bit with every car. If it takes that long to warm up you may want to try a new t-stat.

Mine is dead center in the normal range and yes it does take a few miles to get there (about 20?). I replaced my thermostat and neither the range nor the time to warm changed.

Here's how it is on mine. When driving around the temperature guage stays right at the bottom of the NORMAL, which is at the lower line. While stopped the car will heat up to about the middle of noR/Mal before the fan kicks on.

After I just put a new motor in I noticed that my temp guage was running at the middle of Normal all the time. My fan was not turning on at normal temp though anymore, so I checked to see if it was plugged in and it wasn't quite connected all the way.. Glad I checked. Now that I got some of the air bubbles out, it settled to the same running temperatures as before.

mine sits right above the A all the time while driving, but when i am sitting, it goes a little above half way up the gauge before the fan kicks on.

Right in the middle, where it should be. Oil temp is usually between 190 and 210.
