Finally got my Tokico's and intrax springs installed...suffice to say I expected more of a drop than I got. Will the drop increase as the springs "break-in", or is what I see now all that I will get? FWIW, I also had aluminum SFB's that were shaved 3/8" installed....
would that minimize the amount of drop? (I was under the impression it would INCREASE the drop....) Anyone know?
Thanks in advance.

Over time the stock suspension settles and softens up a bit, and thus doesn't hold the car up as high as it did new. So when you put on struts and springs that are supposed to lower the car, it may look like the new suspension didn't lower it as much as it should have.

There...I finally got it to where I can read it without thinking "Huh?" :p

Did you take measurements before and after? The Intrax are supposed to be the springs to buy if you want to lower the SHO. Well, besides the coilovers they lower it the most.

the coilovers can lower the 4+ inches. trust me the absolute lowest u can go is coilovers.

Thats what I have been told over and over and have yet to see pics proving this. Only proof I have seen is SHOFF's rear drop but the front wasnt even as close.

ive had mine down low enough that i couldnt drive it. when i get the chance ill do it again and take some pics...will that make u happy. my front is easily as low as yours and i still have 2 or so inches i can go. and thats with a set of springs that at their highest is factory height.

I dont doubt that they will drop that low, but I have yet to see one IPT SHO remotly dropped as low as mine in the front. Because coilovers should drop that low(compared to other cars) just thought the SHO ones didnt and still do till I see some sort of picture.

Trust me I want an excuse to buy coilovers, but I read somewhere else when Toolman posted his total front drop got down to 12.25" from hub to fender and mine is at 12.50". So I couldnt see spending $900 for an extra .25" lower than I currently am.

the problem with going lower than 12.25 or even 12 is that especially on gen 1's the tires will rub unless u go seriously stiff with the springs. ive got 300lb fronts and when i hit a big bump at speed they rub even now (ill mesure when i get home). but that is because i ride on rough intercity roads. if all i drove on were highways, trust me you wouldnt be able to get a peice of paper between the tire and the fender. thumbs_u thumbs_u

I must have some tight SS springs because I can barly get it to move when going up inclines or even hard bumps. Feels like my car rides on wooden stumps the way it absorbs bumps on the road. Just curious isnt 300lbs front spring rate kind of low on coilovers considering the coil itself is smaller than a lowering spring coil?

yea a little, but i wanted a decent ride as well as performance, when i throw my wheight into it the car barely moves. but im talking about like a speed bump type of hit at 30+mph with the konis set on max.
All im trying to say is that your car is as low as it can get with the current setup, while coilovers i can raise it to factory height or slam it till she touches the frame in 10 min or less.
