I think Kirk is somewhere in Illinois. Not sure on that, but I do know he was charging 675.00 for the cam welds. I don't want to give u wrong info, but you should defintely double check with him.

his e-mail is: [email protected]

hopefully this will point u in the right direction.

Your warranty will not support you on a cam fail.
Do some research at V8SHO.com.

I've done "some" research. The only stipulation I see is: the warranty will not exceed a repair amount GREATER than the retail value of the car. In my case it is around $8000, NOW.
I agree it is NOT worth the RISK... but a 4 hour drive to GA, and setting a whole day aside... I am wanting to wait until 100K so I can get a full service with the cam weld. (another 25K) eek!
I hope I'm not headbang before then hail

Good luck on it. Always good to see a fellow Tennessee guy on the V8 forum.

It seems you don`t understand the whole picture. It`s not a matter of if the warentee WILL fix it,but if the warentee CAN fix it.Ford simply does NOT have the parts to fix the engine damage of a spun cam sprocket. There have been cases where Ford has had to put used motors into SHO`s,or even many SHO`s that just sit because Ford has no solution for them. There are zero spare Gen III motors,Ford just doesn`t have any.The fix for a spen cam sprocket isn`t a new cam,it`s a whole new loaded head with alot of instal time.Your best bet would to be get in contact with Tim Wright,he will fill you in on all the information. Please don`t rely on your watentee,it will let you down.Do yourself a favor, and call him,you won`t be sorry.Cam`s have gone as early as 28K,and as much as 3 tines in the same car. They could go the next time you start your car,and Ford doesn`t have a new engine in stock to fix it,plus the damage can exceed $12,000.If i scared you, good,it`s that serious as i have learned.Ask more on the V8SHO.com mailing list, they`ll back me up.
