That would be because the are geared totally different. ATX and MTX do not relate.Sho_Freak said:for some reason my atx sits right at 2k at 61mph...and about 2400-2500rpm at 71........thats better than one of my friends mtx...........
Don't forget about the converter, fokker. Unlocked, the ATX will actually run at a slightly higher RPM in fourth than it's MTX counterpart would in fifth.yamahaSHO said:That would be because the are geared totally different. ATX and MTX do not relate.

That is because like alot of 6 speeds that I've seen they have a fifth that is .74 OD and sixth that is .67 OD or something like that, two overdrives.Shoaz said:In fourth gear in an MTX the tach and speedometer needles are always parallel. If you ever lose one you can tell the other this way in fourth.
Oddly enough, my FSVT is the same way, and it has six gears instead of five. Fourth gear and the tach and speedo needles are parallel.
Must be a Ford thang.
