With 20-w50 in there and checking the oil a few minutes after driving it, your oil was still hanging from the valve covers. I have found that I usually have to wait an hour after running the car to get an accurate reading. Since the oil weight issue was just covered I won't go into that. I just ran into this in my car and my friends car after I changed the oil in them. Within a week, the low oil light comes on and sure enough, it shows no oil on the dipstick. I filled them with 4.5 quarts when I changed them and they both took 2 more. We are using the K@N oil filter. It would be a good idea to get into the habit of regularly checking your oil.
