This is the second time that after jamming on my brakes due to a friend stopping short in front of me I cant manuever the car very much. It doesnt respond the way that it should and because of that I lost control and side swept my car. Is this me or my brakes?

I don't understand what you mean. Did the ABS engage? Did the brakes pull to one side or the other? Did the brakes just not work?

I would believe if the ABS turned on then I would be bale to still manuever the car, its not that much that it pulls to one side. Its more that I cant control where I want it to go

When you slammed on your brakes, did it turn or go straight? Did the ABS simply not engage? Have you done any brake work recently? It would be benificial to us trying to find your problem that you tell us as much as you can about the situation. Thanks! :thumb:

II was pointing straight at first then tried to manuever around his car, I didnt have any brake work done recently but the 96 upgrade might be a smart investment.

The '96 upgrade (or any other brake upgrades, for that matter) will not help in this situation. The stock brakes will stop as well as any for one hard emergency stop. Bigger brakes help in repeated stops where fade is an issue, but the stock brakes can lock the wheels/engage the ABS for a single hard stop.

You still haven't stated whether your ABS engaged in this situation or not (pulsating pedal & sound). If the ABS engaged, the car can be steered.....assuming that you have enough room at your current speed to do so.

Sounds like "operator error" to me.

Could you hear your tires squeel like they locked up? We really need some more info here. If you couldn't hear the tires squeel, did you at least feel the car slowing down rapidly? Were you on the pedal hard?, possibly on-off type of deal?

How fast were you traveling?

How close were you to your friends car?

Sounds to me so far to be driver error, traveling to close to car in front.
