Hey... I have every major bolt-on less the turbos, CAI (Do have K&N with modded airbox), and meth. I've run an INVALID 12.1@116mph with a 1.97 60' (-1.91% slope). I have run a VALID BEST of 12.36@115 with a 2.02 60' (.35 slope).

I don't have drag radials. My big questions are... 1) How much WHP should I expect?... 2) Would a turbo upgrade be worth the expense?

Thanks!

I run a constant 12.10 - 12.20's on the steet at 113 - 115 mph on my draggy. My car makes 414 hp and 546 tq to the tire for reference with the mods in my signature.

Most upgraded turbos run in the 11.80 to 12.00 second range depending on tuner and fuel.

Almost my exact combo, only I have the GH intercooler and catless DPs (Totally catless). I don't have aftermarket coils. I was thinking about the EPP dual intake and noisemaker delete... I'm interested to know what the icewater sprayer adds? Wonder would I get a benefit adding to the GH I/C?

Another question... Do you change all fluids yourself? Thanks!

I actually removed my GH IC because my car lost power with it. Went back to a stock IC. I think the DIY water sprayer is a good in between. The EEP's are not needed unless you are upgrading turbos. If you like more noise and the look, wear it out. A K&N drop in flows more than the stock turbos can convert. So yeah. Yes I do change all of my own fluids. Oil and Trans fluid is easy. I drilled and tapped my PTU, and my RDU is not up for a fluid change yet. Once it is, I will drill and tap it as well.

Everything you are probably looking for can be found in this thread.

The majority of the mods to my car are backed with data, dyno pulls, and trips to the drag strip.

Did I read your post correctly? You removed the Gearhead-marketed intercooler because you LOST power? What model is the "stock" intercooler? Do Gen4 SHOs come with factory intercoolers?

Yes it has an intercooler. A very thin one but once the intake temps go over 100 degrees it starts to pull timing. GH intercooler is a **** poor design. A front mount intercooler is proven to be the best from a company who knows them. Add water meth for the hot days and your fine with everything the turbos can throw at it. Phenolic intake spacer does wonders also with keeping heat off the manifold. Wrapping the coolant tube through the intake does nothing as the heat need to go somewhere and it needs to do it there. Just a poor design for a MAP intake system. But its just a taurus, cant over design it or it will take sales away from their beloved mustang. As it did in 1989 when it outran the corvette and the only car on north american soil that could outrun it was an m5 that was easily twice the price. All the publications had to alter their performance times and is one of the only times in history where a fast car had to be written slower by manufacturer request (as stated by Hagerty)

Yes, I lost power when I added the GH IC. The GH IC is a tad big for the stock turbos. However people do pick up power with the GH IC on 93/91 octane because it does drop charge air temp which the computer then adds timing. However, my car is on E30 (which I am able to run more timing. When I added the GH IC, even though the charge air temp was lower, the GH IC put my turbos (worn out) in a deficit. They could not produce the same boost levels they did with the stock IC. My tuner and I tried literally everything minus pinning the wastegates lol.

Yes the GH IC is a good upgrade if you run pump gas 91/93. It is a good upgrade esp if you run aftermarket turbos.

Weren't your turbski's getting a little worn out though?

I ran 11's without meth or big turbo's and full weight, upgrades in sig below, DA helped out big time.

Same, IAT’s were pulling lots of timing on stock IC. With the GH IC I’ve been near ambient at the end of the quarter.

That was the consensus with Brad and I. I do wonder how many more people it has happened too.

Wow! How in the heck are you getting 546 pound-feet of torque? That's f'ing amazing! What do you think is the single largest contributor to the performance-boost other than the E30-tune and fuel?
