On my 93 ATX, there's a long multi-angled metal tube that goes from the engien block to the EGR valve assembly. At the EGR assy, it's flattens out in one spot and has a hole to go over a bolt, and has a 90 degree bend at the top that goes nowhere. When doing the 60k, I broke that bolt, and now that bar just hangs free. What's that bar for?

I believe that it is there to keep the other wiring harnesses and tubing from coming in contact with the exhaust-heated EGR riser.
