I wondered if anyone was keeping there used clutch disc's and pressure plates. I know that most SHO clutches are remanufactured/refurbished. Are we as a SHO communutity eventually going to run out of these? I hate throwing them in the scrap pile. Mabye keep holding on to them for "core" someday?

Looking for your opnions.

I've kept one F*** OEM Valeo unit for two reasons. One as an interim spare if my current clutch takes a dump. Two for core, as F*** does require a core for their OEM replacement clutch kits.

i kept one for a while to show friends how screwed up it was, but just tossed it eventually. one of the little springs inside one of the big springs on my disk broke resulting in the larger spring snapping and half of it being wedged between the disk and the flywheel bolts. it was the orginal clutch at 105,000 miles

Brian maybe they can be trophies for every tranny job you do, you know, just to let yourself know how much your need in the SHO community. Now a bunch of new ones hanging on the wall is a totally different story. Its not like "your Green Bastard would run threw a few of those" or anything like that.Since ive offically been to your sho I can show up anytime???

I keep mine for warranty replacement, that way I don't have to wait on the shipping delay of the new kit. Of course you can pay out of pocket for the kit, then get refunded when you bring the old one back. However, I don't want to go through the hassle and hear that my old one is still good and can't be replaced by warranty. I've had that happen before until the manager stepped in that I knew.

That said, I can use a spare after ditching the last one that fell victim to rust. :p
