Cut 'em! I swear I am going to name my car "Dremel". So I was getting a bit mad the other day working on my car trying to get my HVAC system out with no luck. I find out that I am out of luck trying to get the A/C lines to disconnect. I even bought the special scissor tool to do it ($7 wasted). I"m about ready to haul this piece of junk to a boneyard when I have an idea. Actually, it was suggested by my brother: cut them. So I did.
Okay, so I promised myself that I would stop breaking things to get stuff off, but heck, A/C just adds weight anyway. I could just cap the A/C system and glue the button, remove the compressor, condensor, evaporator and the lines. I'll make more room (tranny cooler? Do MTXs use them?), lose some weight, and never have to futz with the A/C again. Sure my EATC system will be the less for it, but I live in Seattle. We have five days a year where I will use it.
So for the second part, I was thinking of picking your brains and numbering the components in my pictures to help myself and others when doing this themselves. There are no real good writeups, and the one decent one has been taken off. Anyway, tell me what you think (about the A/C and stuff).
(edit, spelling and links)
