Yokohama AVS Sports (93 Atx) 235/45/17 Great dry handling tire, good in wet, have no clue in snow as we don't get the white stuff this far south.

Bridgestone SO-3 (94 Mtx) 235/45/17 Great handling tire in either dry or wet. Once again, no snow experience.

Hankook K102 High Performance Tires - 225/55/ZW16

They grip well... I really have not pushed the car hard enough to know. But I am pleased with the tires.

sunny San Juan Bautista,
Yokohama AVS-I 225/60ZR-15 on ugly ass weaves. RIP AVS-I :sniff:

pretty darn good in the wet and in the dry. When I had AVS-I on my old 90 and 91 Camrys I had 205/50ZR-16 tires on 16 X 7.5" rims (stock size was 185/70-14 on 5.5" rims). In that size on that car handling was OUTSTANDING. In wet or dry. I would wear them out pretty quick too. And when worn the wet performance drops off pretty quick.

Gonna replace the AVS-I's on the SHO with Yokohama AVS ES-100. On somethings, ehm, a little, somewhat better than weaves. wink

Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712 225/55/ZWR16. VERY impressive - my 91's previous owner took me for a ride when his on there were almost bald. He was able to swerve back and forth on a road at 60 with only a little chirping. However, in the rain, they are terrible. I took a 90 degree turn at about 20-30, figuring they'd grip, and they slid on the wet pavement putting me into a 4-wheel slide. Another reason for a Quaife! thumb

My old Dunlop SP 5000's were great (V-rated), until they were about 1/2 year old. For some reason, it got warm out, and they couldn't grip at all. Great tires, very tight, but not meant to be heavily pushed.

225/55/16 continental contiextremecontacts. all season tire, great traction in wet/dry, quiet, and the traction rating on the tire is 400. not bad for 78 bucks per tire.

What was the temperature when they slid like that? I have the Kumhos and think they are excellant rain tires. I also have the Nitto 450s and they are about wore out. Can't decide which one to get again. The Nittos are under $90 at discount tire, the Kumhos are a little less.

225/55 16" V-rated Yokohama AVID V4.

So far they've been a great tire for my all season requirements. Wet/dry traction is great. Snow traction is decent for a V rated tire. Have put over 10k with minimal wear.

Bridgestone RE-730 225/55/16. On silcers, they are good in both wet and dry conditions. The snow, like Kaotic said, really doesn't fall this far south that often, and when it does, the 93 never sees the roads due to the fact that Texans don't know how to drive in it!!!! jpshakeh

I just put on the Kumho Ecsta MX's 225/50/16 on the original slicers. With nothing else done to the stock car, the changes were out of this world. I've NEVER been able to take turns and corners and launch from lights like I can now. After I put them on I spent 4 hours in the backroads screwin around on the twisties. And the best part...I got Max Performance Tires for only $104/tire. Not bad considering the others in the class were in the $150-250 range. That and I ordered them wed morning from Tirerack and they were on my doorstep at 5pm thur.

Yokomo avs ES-100 thumb

225/50-16 on slicers
$81 a piece
Its wet traction is better than the stock tires dry traction. I'm not even going to try them in snow.

235/45-17 Yokohama Avid H4's. All-Season High Performance. Great in wet and dry, and so long as I don't go nuts, they work decent on snow and ice. I did have the tires siped for extra bite though. Nice price too; $97/ea. from tirerack.

Later!

225/55/16 RE730 Bridgestone ultra performance tire. Best wet and dry traction out there. Held up excellent during Open Track use, plan on purchasing another set before year end.

Bridgestone Potenza RE950, H-Rated.

Very good all around, but excellent in the wet. Very reasonably priced and decent looking.

BFG g-force comp TA KDWS 225/55WR-16 on stock slicers. $102/ea at tirerack.
Excellent all around, all-season performance tire. No problems in dry and significantly better than I expected in rain, snow and ice. We got several snow and ice storms this past winter in Charlotte and the tires never once felt like they'd put me into a guardrail! Best set of tires my SHO has had in it's 120K mile life.

Michelin Pilot XGT VR4s I believe 215-60-16. Grip very very well in dry and wet conditions... have yet to try them in snow.
