It's all good. I'll hook everything up and let you guys know how it sounds once I get my alternator replaced. I'm gonna take it into the shop to do it, I don't have the time to do.

I just got to thinking... will my antenna stay up when I am using the CD changer? I should be getting my cd magazine soon, so I wanted to make sure before I hooked everything up.

Yes it will but it does not need to be. I had a switch in mine to keep it down unless I wanted to listen to the radio.

I want it up, that way, I can use it for the amp turn on. My amp turns off when the radio/CD changer will.

You can still switch the antenna off and use the antenna turn on wire to power up the amps. Just splice the wire for the turn on before the splice for the switch to turn the antenna off.

Same wire. To switch the antenna off use some small gauge twin led, like you get with your cheap speakers. After the point you tap into the red/pink wire but before the antenna motor cut and spice one end of the twin leads to the each end of the now severed red/pink. the run your twin lead to each side of a switch.

I've been thinking about an antenna shutoff, but I've been trying to think of a way for it to be automatic. Is there any signal wire to or from the RCU that only is powered when the radio is on, and not powered when the CD changer is on? If so, we could use a relay for the power antenna.

It would have to be inside the RCU or amp. The actual turn on signal for the radio or cd played is done over a comm network.

But I am sure inside the RCU where the radio electronics are there is a 12V signal.

Is there anywhere I can get a (fairly) detailed schematic of the football and RCU wiring? Is it in the Ford CD somewhere?

No they only have the external wire diagrams.

I took the football apart the other day and it's too deep to play with. If your looking for a 12V signal when the radio is on I would look in the RCU. The CD is no help either.
