5 on 4.25" is the bolt pattern. the size you want depends on your intentions. the stock wheels were 16 x 6.5 iirc, with offset of around 38mm.

If going the new route, go to Tirerack.com, put in your car info and see what styles and prices appeal to you. It will show you a picture of how they appear on your car.

If going the used route, some later model Taurus rims look very nice on these cars, and possibly the Ford 500, and the Lincoln LS. You can confirm the fit by going again on Tirerack and looking up the specifications on these models concerning the offset and what not. Some Volvo rims will fit as well. You can also look at newer model cars like the new Fusion and whatnot to see if they have the same bolt pattern and offset, as who knows what the new models have. The general rule is front wheel drive cars have similar offsets, and steer clear of rear wheel drive car rims; and the offset has a + or - in front of it, so confirm that when you make your selection.

Might be some information here if you want to go with different rim sizes.

To give you some idea, mine are American Racing Mavericks in 17x7.5 with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires in 225/50ZR17. I bought everything from TireRack, going by their sizing guidance. The offset looks perfect. I've been very happy with my choice, and they (I think) look great.

Get a rim that is easy to replace. Had a set of hard to find rims & busted one on a pothole on the highway. One rim replacement turned into a whole 'nother set of 4.

I'm picking up an sho (94) thats been sitting on flats for awhile so I have decided rims and tires are a must. Just wanted to make sure this is the right information.

Application: Daily driving in wet weather with tight turns.

Or you can have chrome dipped slicers for around $400!!!

Personally,I like the looks of a chromed top of the line OEM rim myself.
From what i saw on tire rack i can get a set of rims and tires for 600 or so. The stock rims probably sat too long.

Or are you saying pull them clean them and then chrome them?

Just because the tires sat flat doesn't mean the rims are bad. They can always be cleaned up and/or repainted if you want a different look. A rim won't go bad from sitting, only from hitting stationary objects....
