I have to make the front wore out motor mount solid on this MTX. What size of bolts are you guys using to do this? Are you using lock washer or lock nuts? A little parts list would be great thanks!

Before you do, you do understand that there's going to be a substantial increase in NVH when you do this, right?

Yes I did this on one of my other SHO's but I cant remember what I used to do it. What does NVH stand for? I know it makes the car vibrate but there really are not any other inexpensive repairs for it that I know of.

Noise - Vibration - Harshness. If anything's at all loose on the body, it's gonna rattle with the solid mount! Just don't do BOTH front and rear in solid, that would be recommended only for racing setups.

Just doing the front one. I did it in my SHO and ya it does vibrate but the guy that owns the car does not have the money to buy a new or reinforced one. He needs the car to get back and forth to school.

You know, for the cost of the time involved in removing, modifying, and reinstalling the stock mount, he could get an aftermarket replacement for less than $60 shipped.

If he doesn't beat the **** out of it, it should last quite a while and not shake the car to bits.

I tried that number on ebay but nothing comes up. Do you have a link or another number? The only one that I can find on there is $150.

310623065096 is the item number.

Looks like a new front mount. I wonder when that became a thing.

I talked with the owner of the car and he is saying that he wants to go with a solid one. I just cant remember what size bolts I use on mine. Does anyone know what size bolts to use we live 20 miles out of town and I don't want to take it apart until I have the bolts here to put in. He said down the road here he will get a new one but he cant afford it right now.

Whatever size you want...you're just bolting the two halves of the mount together.

I used whatever size bolts fit Energy Suspension PN 9.8105R. The package says the ID on the bushings is 3/8"

I didn't notice any additional NVH on this stock mount. I'm about to do the rear mount to match, although it hasn't failed yet.

Whoa! Very interesting.....

I never liked the idea of securing the two halves together with bolts, however, using those sway bar links changes things up a little. Did you come up with that? I never saw that idea until now. I have actually given a LOT of thought towards the design/function of both engine mounts but totally gave up on the 'bolting' method a long time ago.

Kelvin, that's well done. The bushings would go far is lowering any NVH on acceleration.

That's a great idea! I have 4 of those bushings and washers in the garage. Main thing i need to know is how long the bolts need to be.
