From what I've been able to tell, unless you wanna dump the cash on a set of Motorcraft Wires (which are the best for the SHO), Taylors work quite well. As far as plugs, Advanced Auto has NGKs for around $2.99 a piece, and they've been working splendidly for me for about 10k miles...which is a long life in my car for some reason.

plugs- Denso p/n PK16R11 or the original Motorcraft AGSP 32PP if you can find a set (discontinued)

Wires - AC Delco, original Mortorcraft's, I have heard reports back that Taylor's and Accel's work good.

The P/N i got off their site is BKR5EGP for the the G-Power's, and BKR5EYA-11 for the V-Power. (which is what i had, and made more power with... :madflame: )
they have the G-powers listed @ 2.98 a plug, and the V-powers @ 1.77 a plug... hmmm.

Autolite makes plugs and wires. available at advance auto. AGSP32PP, the Ford service plug up till a few years ago, is identical to the autolite APP3924, except for the print color. there is a $1.25 per plug rebate on them as well.

what will NGK think of next. V-power and now G-power, when will the west catch up?!

I've been using E3 plugs (#e3.48), for the past 10000 km and i've seen an increase of at least 2mpg. But the plugs that were in when I got the car weren't in too good condition, I think they were bosh.

I just installed a set of the Autolite APP3924 plugs and was not really surprised to find that the plug boots did not fully seat against the valve covers. The Autolite plugs are about .5mm taller; enough to prevent the rectangular plug boot seal from pressing against the top surface of the valve cover. I added O-rings around the boot shaft where it meets the head portion to have some interference between the boot and the valve cover to prevent the ever present flying dust and debris from finding a home in the hard to clean plug wells. I added this post to this latest topic that turned up in a search of "Autolite APP3924."

I ran a set of 3923's (copper) with stock wires and they matched up fine. I'm not sure if they are any shorter than the stock replacements.

When I checked the prints I found the motorcraft AGSP32* heat range plugs had identical dimensions to the *3924. thats assuming they were made to print, a big assumption. I would imagine gasket crush may come into play comparing older plugs to new. the gaskets are directional too I found out. I trust you torqued them to 15 lb/ft?

I measured the Motocraft AGSP32PP plugs and the Autolite APP3924 plugs and found the insulator section to be about .5mm taller on the Autolite version. Side-by-side you could see the difference.

I checked it out as well the autolite APP3924s are a tad longer then the OEM Motorcraft. From looking at the design of both plugs most people would just assume they are the exact same plug. I did at first.

they are both the same on print, and have all the same part numbers for constituant parts. further, the 10 new samples I looked at this morning where Identical. comparing a new plug to an old one may be the tricky part.

keep in mind that if you install then reinstall a gasket seat plug it shrinks by .2mm because the gasket squishes more and more as it gets worked.

AGSP 32FM is the replacement for these, they fit/work fine.

SHOtimes list had mentioned this point about the autolites back in '98. It was always thought out to be one of the same plugs, the autolite and motorcraft, but infact had different lengths.

Other then motorcraft, taylor, accel, and delco, i've heard fitment issues with wires. I just ordered a set of Taylers, that extra insulation sound pretty good to me!! $89.00 shipped! I thought Midwest SHO carried them, but couldn't find them on the SHObros page. Purchased 'em from Summit.

Is there any harm in mixing AGSP 32FM and AGSP 32PP, assuming you have some of each unused, but not 6 of the 32PPs ? Also I've never changed the spark plug wires and I've been using them for 14 years and 230K miles. If everything seems to be running fine, is there any reason to change them?

You can check to see if the wires are bad. With that many miles, i would advise to replace them due to the natural breakdown of the wires. As they age and their insulation weakens, you will lose ignition through the wires. If you would like to test them, fill a spray bottle with water and run the car. Mist the water above the wires to see if there is any current leaking through them. It's best to do this in a dark garage or at night. It'll be noticable if they are losing spark.
