ok. under the hood there 3 screws that hold the fender on. my middle one, the piece the screw goes into, i suspect, is broken. i took one off the opposite side fender and i saw like a clear plastic bracket that looked like it was what the screw went into. does anyone know what this part is?

Dunno if that is paritally what you may be pertaining to?

Thats what I was thinking. It is a clip that slips into the slot where your bolt will mate up to when bolting on. They are known for breaking. You might have to get underneath with vise grips to hold the othe half or cut it off. Just remove your inner fender liner, the pic above shows you how.

ok everyone who said it was a clip was right. it was metal. but somehow when i was trying to unscrew it, i broke it. anyway, ford made this really difficult. apparently you have to remove the whole fender just to get to the clip. how hard is it to remove the fener?

shouldnt be to hard really, As for the clips im sure that you could pick them up really cheap. I would say to just stop in at any auto body shop and ask and even possibly they may not even charge you for it. But even if they do it wont be much.

Anybody around you have any kind of Ford parts car? Those clips are used in alot of cars. Autozone and Advanced have 'em, too. If Ineed one I just dig in the nut and bolt cup/boxes/buckets I have from the many mustangs...

Work on stuff long enough, you'll need another one. I bought a 10 (or was it 20) pack of the plastic buttons that hold the bumper cover on. Just buy it and put the pack in a drawer in the garage or your tool chest.
