The other day I did a burn out but my car couldn't handle it. The throttle got stuck WIDE open (again) and went crazy!! The RPMs did a a full 360 and now it's under the little black stick instead of being over it? what happened there? Last time when it got stuck that meant the motor mount bolt couldn't handle the power. But why did the RPM's go crazy? And can the rpm thing be fixed! :omg:

yes it can be fixed. Floor the car again and you should be all set. Check for either a sticking throttle cable, or I've found sometimes the bracket for the throttle cable bends and causes that sticking.

It doesn't matter anyway. If you keep doing burnouts and redlining your car you're not going to have it for very long.

1: check cable for stickyness
2: check throttle bracket for bendiness
3: check floor mat for stuckiness

Reset the tach by allowing car to warm up to operating temperature, then go out for a drive...in an open safe area, from a roll, mash the gas when you are in 1st and take the car to redline. Tach will reset when the car reaches about 6500 or so.
