I have a 93 white exterior with White wheels that I'm doing the 96+ upgrade on. I finally got the caliper and brackets today and need to know which color I should powder coat them?

Here are some colors to choose from. Red, Blue, Green, Silver, Gunmetal Grey, Chrome, Yellow, Mirror Black, White, Metallic Silver, Candy Blue, and some others that I'm probably forgetting.

When I do my engine and brackets, it is going to be strictly black & chrome for a real high class BMW, Jaguar, Benz, type of look.

I am not really sure if I want to choose a color, meaning blue, red, yellow, for the calipers. Right now I'm leaning towards keeping it simple & sharp with either Mirror Black, Metallic Silver, or Gunmetal. The last thing that I want is for the car to start looking ricey.

Let me know what you think is a good color. Remember the car is WHITE with white slicers.

By the way, to "91 SHOplus" if you are reading this, I'm going to be testing the Green tonight and will send you a PM hopefully later on with a picture.

Thanks in advance. Sincerely, Scott thumb

Scott,
If I would have to do it over again, I would have done a white/red setup on my motor, and a red calipter powdercoat. I think that would look awesome. And as an owner of a white/white 93, I would know!

Good luck with whatever you decide!

She has been in an accident, but that motor underneath the powdercoat is going to be redone with a full stage 2 setup with nitrous!

Picture the runners as red with red valve covers. After doing the black, it really is too dark to appreciate, although hypercoat.com is really the s--t for powdercoating needs!

I don't know if it is just me but your pictures are not loading?

Does anyone else have some ideas on a color scheme?

To "91 SHOplus" Here is the picture that you requested in Metallic Green Powder Coat. It is a shade darker than the color of the SHO's but it is still very close.

Thanks. Scott

IMHO Dark Ford Blue on the Calipers, and Silver for the brackets. OTOH, White brackets to match the wheels would be pretty cool too.

I believe that a highly reflective mirror silver (chrome maybe) would look nice against the steel calipers and behind the white wheels.

The premium brand cars that you mentioned, in my opinion, are all about understatement. Becase of your choice to retain the stock white slicers, I feel that this would create a most elegant and sporty choice.

The more I keep thinking about it, the more I like the idea about the two tone scheme. The silver brackets with blue calipers would draw attention to the bigger brakes. Yet I don't think it would be too much to where it is an eye sore.

The only problem with this is that nowhere else on the car is there going to be the blue to match. Do you think that this will be a problem?

I'm very indecisive at this point.

If I were to stick with the understatement look, how do you think I should go about that. All black brackets and calipers? I don't think that I want to go with white because it will show the brake dust too easily.

Please post some more ideas on this. I'm more than likely going to be powder coating everything tomorrow and I'd like to have a concrete idea.

Thanks much! Sincerely, Scott

If that picture of the washers is not large enough:

By the way, the ford blue color is somewhat darker in real life. The flash from the camera lightened the image a little.

If you would like a test piece, I offer then for only $.50 each. Minimum of 2 and shipping is FREE.

Here's how mine turned out. Pardon the assembly pictures, they are the best at showing the colour.

Thanks for the great pictures. I think that I'm going to go with that set up only modify the brackets by using Chrome.

Does anyone think that it will look bad?

Thanks. Scott

Scott, Ford blue is cool and all, but I'm partial to a red caliper myself, as an accent. Also, check your ***. thumb

The fronts are powder coated, the rears are painted. If you look closely, the blues don't even match, but they are pretty close. Looks good on the car when it's sitting on its wheels. :)

Here's red on green with silver wheels. The front calipers are P/C, and the rear are red paint (gotta P/C if I can find the time). The wheels look white in the pic, so maybe photoshop the car white as well for a visual? :)

(Yes those are 13's front and rear, one of 3 that I know of ....)
