I have two issues, neither can be good. I am not skilled but a learner. Let me know if i am on track or off track.

At about 50 mph to 60 mph cruising the back roads to work, when i accelerate lightly the car jerks like it is going to gears wrong. If i hammer it, it shifts fine. I suspect some sort of adaptive thing since i recently moved office and dont drive on the interstate as much, but i am worried that the transmission is on its last legs.

The other issue i just heard today for first time. I suspect something with the turbo. When accelerating at a certain rate and above at any speed it sounds like there is a whooshing noise from right side of engine (or at least, i hear noise from the right, i know that doesnt mean anything.) It doesnt happen in idle. So is it a hose thats loose/broke, the turbo, or something else?

I have almost 158,000 on my 2011 PP SHO.

Could be a broken seal on one or both of the blow off valves, not uncommon. There would be noticeable loss of power tho. Could also be one of the unclamped hoses connected to the wastegate solenoid (on top of the manifold).

Usually two things to look at when the issue arises at O/D speeds: PTU and/or torque converter. Has the PTU ever been serviced/replaced?

Not that I know of SHOdded (no parts replace I know of, got car at 45k miles).

I will look for pics on the Wastegate solenoid so I can check in morning.

It's like a clunk that happens multiple times if I dont step on the gas. I appreciate your help!

Check for loose connections in circled areas.

Does it feel like the trans is going into neutral when it "clunks"?

Hmm, I dunno. I haven't thought of it like that before. My initial reaction is no as I dont hear the engine rev which I would assume would happen. Everything being electronic tho that's prolly a bad expectation on my pary.
Honestly I hit the gas harder when I hear it clunking or let off, only once I let it happen a few times.
Now that I think of it, last time I ran thru the creek and flooded car I didn't change the spark plugs like I did the prev time. Is it possible that's giving me the clunk?

Did you check the PTU/PTU fluid afterwards? If not, check it now. The PTU and RDU are not supposed to be submerged but I think yours has the extension tube into the engine bay, correct? That should've saved the PTU, but can't say for sure. The RDU would definitely have taken a hit. So it is also important to check the RDU.

Have sometimes had suspension parts like hubs/tie rod ends/LCAs affected or start behaving strangely after water immersion, and those parts do CLUNK, so give the suspension a good once-over as well.

Maybe this will help - my car was just diagnosed with a turbo oil hose that had blown completely off. The symptoms were the air noise under acceleration in the right side of the engine, harder shifting, and I observed oil sprayed under the car. New oil tube needed.

Thanks Redbull! I have completely ignored the issue all summer- partly because the car runs fine but just no turbo. That is- I drive it like grandpa with no super hard acceleration.
I do want to get back to addressing issue now that I have fixed up my 2001 f150 that I can use as a backup vehicle if I need to wait for parts. And my neighbor said I can use his machine shop to pull car into to work on it.
I have found a couple of new roads that having the turbo would make it a blast to drive on (lots of turns, elevation changes, short straight away, off the beaten path).
