Am I the only one that burns one piston at a time? I came upon a possible issue that may answer why I have been having issues with mine.
When I go WOT the Vortech is up hovering around ~9 or 10 psi from about 2500 RPM's. Then as it hits 3400 the boost gauge falls momentarily as the secondaries pop open up. The blow-off valve on mine is plummed in a closed loop so it comes back fairly quick but I am wondering if that instant it opens up the sudden jump in actual air volume to lean out faster then the ECU can correct for resulting in a lean-out condition that for some reason only effects number 5.
Just tossing it out there for some discussion.

By the way, I removed my butterflies to elliminate this problem and the resulting shock on the drive system when they catch up all at once.

I'm not too familiar with the Gen 3's, but is #5 the last injector in the run of 8? In other words, do you have a single rail system or one for each bank?

The Gen 3 uses a single rail that sort of zig-zags since the angle has them so close together. The #5 is actually the second injector on that rail. It feeds and returns from the same side.

they arn't really needed on the V8's you will never feal a difference at idle except for a slightly rough idle on cold starts.

Ditch Them

The rods are still there but the brass discs are gone. But more for the prevention of having little rendom parts falling in after hearing horror stories from a co-worker who just had his engine replaced after one of the screws fell off in his Duratech.
