Started the day out good riding the wife around in SHO and towards the end of the day IT GOES TO ****. I got on the car trying to chase this guy in a chevy blazer and it just bogged out and lights in the dash flickered. I get home and shut off the car and it would not start back up.... Dang battery goes bad according to my tester. Of course nothings open around here in this 1 horse town but Walmart so I go get a battery from them and put it in. I put my tester back on and it shows 14.3 volts and I can here the alternator whistling and it says good diodes ,amp output over 50 amps, regulator voltage at 14.3 volts. I put the battery core in the car and head to walmart to get my $9 dollars back and on the way the Alternator light started flickering while cruising along at 45mph. I drive back home and put my tester on the car again and dang voltage says 12.22 volts and holding, Headlights on-12.11 volts. Proceeded with the alternator test and it says start car...Im like stupid tester its already running. I get it to perform the test anyway and now it says good diodes but low amp and voltage output.... So I guess the alternator was on its way out and it decided to do it after I did another video and was getting on it. When I turn the key on the battery light does not come on now and it does nothing at all while driving now.

Dammit I gotta drive all the way to work(I am a auto technician) to get my Chevy Trailblazer now....................WHAT A DAY.

12 volts when running is usually a shorted diode IIRC. Funny how it said start car tho.. :) Those diode packs are easy to swap.. see if you can't get it tested at a good shop, and then fix it yourself if it is the diodes that are the issue.

didnt get to look at it today... but Im sure its the alternator. funny thing is when it sits for awhile the alternator light comes on when the key is turned on and I can here it whisltle and the tester shows 14.3v but drive it for a bit and get it hot it stops the whistle noise of the alternator and the tester shows low amp and voltage output.crazy crazy... I can get a new one for $146.00 so well see if I can get it replaced..... so much I want to do but so little time :(
