Face it. The only way a 6cyl. is going to sound cool is if its a Cummins. You can't make your 3.0 or 3.2 sound like a V8 at all speeds. At idle maybe, but it'll just get raspy higher up in the tach. I'm thinking about maybe just 2.5in pipe from the collector to a long resonator and some el'cheapo baffled turbos for flow. My suggestion is this: do the same thing Ford has been doing with the S197 mustangs, and run a tube from the airbox to under the dash. The coolest sound from a V6 SHO I think, is the intake note. Especially after you take out the silencer cone. It even made a **** of a difference in my '99gl. I'm going to try it regardless, but I just wanted some unbiased feedback. So, whaddya think?

i'm running a 2.5" cat-back into a single flowmaster, and i've never heard anyone besides my neighbors complain. personally, i'm rather content with how it sounds and feel no need to clutter up the engine compartment with a "sound tube."

I'm not knocking the different sounds and tones some poeple have been getting from these cars. I've heard some that sound damn fine. In fact, I've heard V6 cars with the edelbrock sdt's(that I've thought about trying) and they sound real good. But its usually only in a specific rpm range until it starts to change. Some people like a little rasp, and some people like some cackle. Beauty is in the eye...I just like the intake sound over the exhaust in a V6. Besides, there's already so much crap under an SHO hood, that I don't think a small tube is going to make that much difference.

i'm not completely happy with my exhaust, but then again i havent done anything other than flowmasters and y-pipe. i'm hoping a good cat back will do the trick.

my 2 cents dont waste money on 2 mufflers on phony duals. i ran 1 24 inch blue streak glass pack with 2 tail pipes and some magnaflow 18 inch long 3inch tips sounds awesome no rasp till after 5 grand
