welding cams?

i'm new to sho's and have been reading that people weld cams to make them last longer??? whats this about? i'm pickin up a sho this weekend for a new dd while my number one baby gets a make over.

The cam gears are basically a press fit onto the camshaft which is nothing more than a hollow tube. They have been known to have the cam gears lose there fit on the cam and this will cause the top end to stop while the bottom end still turns and this will **** the engine. If you are unshure if it has been welded then do not run the engine until it gets welded.

its a 95 so this doesn't apply? my old cams on my mustang had press on cam gears and i've never heard about welding them on so they won't slip. is this just sho specific

motor was found in 96-99 SHO's only

so yes sir. SHO specific
