How did you hold out for so long?

It's a great daily driver as-is from the lot, perfect for the last few years, but now my SHO is of an age where I feel the need to "improve" on it's baseline. A few weeks back I was looking for a Mustang to tune-up and toy around with... I test drove one (2009 GT) and realized I have more power with my SHO so why get an older Mustang and try to make it as fast as my SHO when I can just improve my SHO which is a lot more fun and less expensive than buying a second car!

I just ordered the AIRAID 450-260 MXP Series Cold Air Intake System & SCT Livewire TS Programmer Plus from Unleashed with (3) custom tunes. This should be a lot of fun in a very short amount of time!

Can I ask why you picked the tuner you did?

I did a fair amount of online research (i.e. blogs like this one!) and concluded that SCT is a solid product with multiple generations of hardware and software that is proven. I wanted an open piece of hardware that could upload/download custom tunes from multiple sources. Unleashed had good reviews and I got (3) tunes for an excellent price with the SCT hardware purchase. I love data and analytics so I wanted to view and record in real-time in my SHO without a laptop, Wifi was a plus too, so the SCT Livewire TS+ checked the boxes for me. I'm an Automation Engineer by trade and design machine control systems so a nice HMI (GUI) and real-time data is important for me. I liked the GXT a lot, but it doesn't work stock for the SHO so I landed on the Livewire TS+. Hopefully the GXT next generation will work for the SHO. I know LMS could probably provide a better custom tune, but I wanted an open hardware platform and the ability to use multiple sources for custom tunes.

I'll post some videos and reviews in about a week when I'm up and running. I may even try making my own custom tunes once I get the hang of this stuff. I have a great staff of system software engineers at my day job so that could help!

You will be very happy with the LiveWire TS+. I have one with an AJPturbo tune. I love it.
