I was driving my car home from work when as soon as I got onto the highway the clutch pedal gave out and hit the floor. On the floor I saw a piece of the clutch cable and then when I noticed this I pushed the car back into the parking lot of my work and left it there. Since then I have fixed the clutch cable and noticed that 2 60amp ignition fuses were blown so I replaced those and the car started right up. The only thing is when I let the clutch in and try to go into any of the gears it won't let me when the car is turned on, but when the car is off I can go thru gear to gear still. Anybody know what this problem could be? I heard that it could be the tensioner on the clutch pedal that needs some adjustment so that is why the clutch pedal isn't catching with the transmission. I'm confused and this is my 3rd week with the mtx the car is a 1992. Also when the car turns on with the power and the motor running the cars heat comes on and doesn't shut off even when the eatc says the heat is off. These are 2 new and weird problems to me. Any help input would help greatly I need to get this problem solved as soon as I possibly can. Thanks.

Ok first the clutch cable....Does the pedal feel different than it did before with the new cable as far as engagement location and feel? You may have installed it wrong. Did you tension the cable after you installed it by pulling up on the pedal with about 10 lbs of force?

As to the blown fuses, are you saying those blew when the pedal broke? How did you discover they were blown, by the car not starting? Thats some big fuse amperage to just blow. Did you short something out when the cable broke that may have blown the fuses?

Yes when I hit the clutch pedal down that night it broke I stripped a wire that caused a bad contact I found out which wire that was this morning when I went to the car I replaced it and the fuses were blown because of the bad contact when the car started. They were the ignition fuses now the car is back and running great and I drove it home. Only problem now is heat stays on constantly like the fan stays on constantly what would cause this to happen?
