well im now at the point where im seriously thinking about removing some major weight. i have a 92 mtx with all options. i know i could pretty easilly hit my sub 3000 goal if it were not my daily driver, but i is. so i cant really go nuts with it. is it possible to take a gen 2 mtx to under 3000 lbs while still keeping it tolerable for daily driving? plus i would rather not get a cf hood even though i know that would greatly help. dont really like the look of cf plus its like another 400 dollars. id rather use very little money, and if i absolutely had to spend it, then id rather put it towards seats or something. and where do you guys weigh your cars at? those truck weigh stations? dont they care if you go in there? id like to get an accurate base line number before i start anything.

Here is a spread sheet I have been keeping:
Part Name Weight Loss (lb)s Location
Plus Hood from Stock 15 Front
Hood Pad 2 Front
A/C System (sans condensor) 23 Front
Rear Seat Pad 15.5 Mid
Fog Lamps 3.5 Front
94 Spindle Dust Shields 2 Front
Subframe Connectors -33 Mid
Manual Seat Track x1 11 Mid
A/C Condensor 7 Front
Back Seat Back 22.5 Mid
Back Seat Bottom 15.5 Mid
Cobra Caliper 7 Front/Unsprung
gen 1Console 14.5 Mid

Total for my car is a weight loss of 105.5 give or take a couple of pounds.
Seats are a good option as you can easily remove about 60lbs depending on the seats. I am trying to get a group buy going for some cobra seats (their heaviest seat is still half as much as a stock sho seat) see this link

Did that manual seat base bolt right to the OEM seat? Any other modifications done to the seats to make them fit?

Yes it did bolt right to the seat with no modification. The only problem (and the reason I only have one manual seat rack on the passenger side) is that when I put it on the drivers side and I put my helmet on, I had no head room. I actually had to recline a little so I wasn't compressed in my seat. I am by no means a tall person either ~5'9" 5'10". The tracks I got came off 2 different year slo's and both give me a problem. Maybe I just have a tall helmet or something.
