ok iv been thinking about weight reduction and i was wondering if i could take out the power steering pump and all acc. along with that i would be taking out the back seat. trunk padding, carpet, etc. lexan windows if they are made or i might ask a glass shop if they can make them for me. if there is anything to add that would be great. and also i did look for other stuff on this subject. but just didnt get what i wanted out for them:oogle:

A/c would be the only acc. I would remove. No way in **** would I remove the power steering. I blew my pump and didn't have power steering for months when it was my daily driver and it sucked.

lets see, free weight reduction:
Cut the supports out of the hood and trunk(just leave a shell and the frame around the edges and latches if you would like)
Sound deadening under the carpet, in the trunk, everywhere. Not just the mat under the carpet, I mean all the dynomat style stuff too that comes from the factory.
gut the doors, just leave what you need on there.
remove the radio and all wiring(speakers and so on too)
Package tray and all associated metal
center console

Not so free stuff:
Race seats.
new gauges and remove the entire dash along with the wiring that is not needed.
Lexan windows and gut the doors even more, just leave a shell basically.
lightweight parts to replace heavier parts.

This is just to give you a basic idea of where you can start.

Light weight wheels will go a long way too. Also a fidanza removes weight and rotating mass. Lightweight dry cell battery. Racing seats, stockers are ~60lbs a piece you can get 2 racing seats for around 20 lbs a piece.
