Hmmm....my car already weighs 3480 fully dressed with my 245lb self in it, 1/2 a tank of gas, random crap in the back seat floors and 80lbs worth of car audio in the trunk.......I wonder how hard it'd be to knock it down below 3000?

My car, typically with an 1/8 tank, it's right at 3380 with me and all my race gear. but that was with a lot of weight removed already. My goal for this month was 100 lbs to get it below 3300. I've lost roughly 60-70 lbs now, so I should be getting close to my goal, but not there yet.

yea, but I still have a basic full interior, and all my seats. not to mention all the weight I've added from all the piping and such... when I weighed it when I was running the nitrous, it weighed in at 3420. After all the weight I've added, I'm still 40 lbs lighter than I was.

So do I..
I've still got the stock (both power) seats, door panels, headliner, rear package tray and all the trim from the door panels up.
Went for a "it's looks stock from the outside look"...

However, when I weighed the car I had the passenger seat removed, but had the back seat still in. So the difference is around 15lbs-ish. But like I said, i've done other things as well.

as far as I know I'm the only one that has taken out the entire bumper and screwed the cover to the body. IIRC when I did that, It was approximately 35-40 lbs. I removed everything including the bumper shocks as well.

That might have been me. Mine was the gutted white one. There's no way it's down to 2500. 2850 is more likely without a driver and empty gas tank.

Yes it could of been 2850 lbs, but I know I didn't actually meet the owner, I met his son or some younger guy that was standing in front of the car next to a whole bunch of SHO's, that was way back in 2004 I believe.

I can't recall the color but be mentioned a few things like converting some of the brackets into aluminum, either way the car looked gutted.

So I went and removed some more of the tar sound deadening from the trunk, the trunk carpet, and a few other miscellaneous things through out the car. after everything I lost ~ 20-25 lbs. Next time I go drag racing, I'll be pulling the back seat out since it's just hanging there(no more brackets or seat belts anyway). This should put me below the 3200 mark with me in it.

The car still has the tar sound deadening from where the front of the back seat is, all the way forward. I need to take care of that still. When I get a chance, I'll be removing the dash and gutting it, and everything else up towards it.

Any other ideas?

Plus hood, Removed jute from under carpet and back seats (the one behind the back seat was 15lbs), Gen2 starter (7 lbs), Cobra calipers (7 lbs per side), Lexan sunroof (~20lbs), Hawker oddsey battery (~10 lbs), Aftermarket seats (dont remember), Removed all AC hardware, gutted AC compressor, removed AC pulley and bypassed, no roll dampeners, single exit exhaust, no fog lights/brackets, no amps or rear speakers, no bolts in center console so its "quick release" at the track, and the fidanza is on the way. I think this is as far as I will go, with the only other possibility being lexan rear side windows if I get ambitious.

How is everyone going about doing the lexan sunroof? I'm interested in doing this because that's a lot of weight to be shaved with the motor, the track and the glass. What about removing the entire sunroof box as well at this point? has anyone done that?

You can remove the entire sunroof box, but theres not much weight there. In addition, if you keep it and your roof leaks a little, the drain rails will still be intact to handle the water. Link to lexan sunroof
