I just noticed that last few days after driving id turn off the car and then id smell something, smelled exactly like evaporated coolant, and last night I see some puffs of smoke or something coming from my passenger side front fender, I stick my head in to smell the familiar coolant smell, and as im listening I can hear it drip and hit something hot and evaporate and then see the little puff come out... im assuming this is the water pump going? And how much you think this is going to set me back?

Thing is the exhaust is not under the pump....unless its travelling there....weird , have it jacked up , running with a light, cant go wrong with that method.

If ever you need a WP anyways for a 3.0 , i got one for sale in the classifieds section , pm me.

Well if it is on the right side that does sound like the pump... Coolant might be running down the side of the block onto a cat. At any rate a water pump change is going to run you...are you sitting down?...

$700 for a shop to do it. Yes that is right, the whole timing cover has to come off, the CPS needs to be replaced and they're going to charge you for a belt as well.

Looks like your time has come to go through what I am about to finish, it would be a good time to do your timing belt, shims, water pump, cps, main seal, plug well seals, cam seals etc... Rockauto has all the parts except for the shims which you can rent via a few ppl on this site.

quote lilGhettoSHO: Its looking like the coolant line to the heater core right now.
I had the same issue...but thats on the drivesr side...near the firewall....behind the throttle body area. You can get it from the top or from the bottom. It's not hard at all.
