water/methanol injection?

Hello guys and gals.

This is just a curiosity thing. I am sitting here at work contemplating and then it hit me. Should I do water/meth injection, who doo i know that's done this, what's the risk associated with it? Then i thought, let me reach out to my friends here on the forum.

So, who has done water/meth injection, was it worth it, how often do you utilize it and what is the risk?

@BradM I did a quick look but the posts that i saw didn't ask the way i did, and didn't answer my question. Maybe there are some out there and i overlooked them since I just did a quick look.

Other than a tune, a water meth kit is one of the best bang for buck mods you can do to your SHO.

Installing is actually not all that complicated especially if you mount the reservoir and pump in your front bumper with a hose extension for topping up. You can do that if you go with the waterproof AEM v3 kit. Otherwise, installing the reservoir in the trunk can also work.

As far as benefits, it’s a 3 in 1. Extra cooling, extra octane, and cleaning of the valves. If you’re gearhead tuned just ask for a non meth dependent tune where you get a few degrees of spark advance if your knock sensors don’t detect any knock. If you do run out of meth or the pump fails for any reason then nothing bad will happen.

As far as downsides, depending if you’re in boost often or not you’ll just need to top up your reservoir every now and then.
