Wash light??

As I climbed into the 95 a few weeks ago I noticed the windshield was encrusted a thin layer of driveway dust. No big deal but a sprinkling earlier displaced some of the dust and left me with spots. No good. SPOTS MUST DIE!!!! So, I twist the key. Cranks but no start. Damn. Twist again and she faithfully starts on the second try like always. So I am letting my babe warm up a little before I assult the roadways with my coolness pimpin' da SHO. lol I mash the multifunction switch for some windshield juice. So I am merrily hoseing down the windshield screaming at the spots when I notice a funny yellow light that says "Wash." In mid screem I was like WTF? I can see it's washing. Not only am I holding the switch in; there is juice squirting up over the roof and the wipers are nosily protesting the work requirement. I figured it must for the mechanically and logically callenged so they don't wast all fluid.

Is the light supposed work in all genII SHOs? I've never seen it light up on either of the 93s but I can see the rectangle...

Heh; I saw the one on my old '94 light up once. Right as it ran out of fluid.

Kind of a silly light IMHO. Seems for most people it turns on right as you run out..not much of a warning. It's like your dashboard laughing at you.

I was simply using it as a state of mind indicator. Would WTH? better or w/o the caps, like wth? I was trying to make my post entertaining instead of just a quick question and didn't expect that every comment had to be intelligent.

Yeah, I agree its a bit silly. I just filled up the bottle and the light still comes on. Bad sensor then? (that'll be number 1 on the 'to do' list)

More than likely just corroded, clean it off and give it a try.

The light you are refering to is commonly called an "idiot light". They are for people who need to be reminded to do normal maintanence, such as add oil, add washer fluid, add coolant, add gasoline (the little gas pump light).

There is a movement afoot (NHTSA) that is about to add another light to new cars. The new one will tell you when your tires need air. Because of a few idiots we will all have to pay several hundred dollars more for this device to be added to new cars. IMHO it should be an option that can be waived by folks that check their air pressure, and ALL fluid levels, once a week like they should.

Well, I did sweep it and clean the leather 2 days ago... I'll wash it this weekend and see if that fixes the light. If that doesn't fix it I'll try greasing the muffler bearing. lol

Mine has been doing the same for 3 years. One of these days I get around to fixing it. I'm also planing on modifiying the circuit so that the light comes on and stays on until I refill the resevoir.
