Wanna see my rack?

Looks like I am swapping racks in the 96 soon which means I'll be dropping the subframe. Anyone care to join me in the endeavor? Tony? Joe? Im losing about 1 quart of fluid every 3 days so Im going to be doing this as soon as possible... Otherwise, buy stock in ATF fluid.


Id be happy to pay you in beer and food... As if spending a day with me isnt a reward in itself.

Do you have air tools? I have no idea how this is to be removed, or replaced. Is it over on V8sho.com?

If I had a spare stall I would say bring it down. I have an impact, 3/8 air ratchet, floor jack, etc.

Rack is getting replaced. I'll be doing this at Tim's place more than likely as he has a garage full of pneumatic toys.

I think it might, or at least dropped down in the back. I have yet to do that on an SHO.

Well, the replacement rack was sent to me today from STL so I will hopefully get it sometime this coming week. I'd like to swap them out this weekend but if it needs to wait another week it can... I'd just need to buy 4 or 5 more quarts of ATF

Im going to try removing the old one by lowering the rear of the subframe as much as possible first. Funds are tight enough to where buying a used rack hurt (work has been uber slow lately)... I dont want to have to get an alignment or risk busting a sub frame bushing and having to buy new ones.
