How is this a Ruby Red resurrection? I’ve brought this 2015 Sho Back from the brink. Bought it as salvage, with 92k miles. It’s an extra car, so it can sit when bad stuff happens. I plan on mildly modding it to get it a little faster... not sure how far I’ll push this one. It Needed a front end essentially, minus the drivers fender. Bags did not deploy though.

I’m back in an SHO after a multi year hiatus from the platform. I had a 2011 SHO with PP back from 2013-15. Sold that to get an F-150. I had some goodies for the 11 that I never sold... I also never got any performance mods done other than a tune back then. I bought some of the first down pipes but never got them installed is one example... I also still have a Kona Blue mobsteel, (I pulled it when I sold the car...) aka tommy z grille laying around Built for a non-acc 2010-2012 Taurus... that look inspired the grille setup I have in this one.

Im not making the same mistakes on this one with waiting on mods... Performance mods are happening already... The eco-power parts 2015 down pipes are installed now, and a Gearhead intercooler was the replacement for the stock unit that was damaged. A cold air intake will go in soon... I know there are minimal if any performance gains, but I like the sound much better with the car. I have new plugs on order, msd coils ready to be installed, 3 bar map, and a tune will be loaded in a couple days/weeks when the plugs arrive.

Other minor mods ... I have already upgraded sync 2 to sync 3.... Sync 2 can suck it!

and of course the typical forscan mods are done... mainly the double honk elimination....

Also... I’m not a professional anything except desk jockey. I do this stuff for fun, and aim for semi professional results on an amateur budget. Some stuff will be kind of half-@$$ed....like some of my paint work for example.... I know it’s not 100% perfect, but I’m ok with it. Don’t give me too much grief... ha ha ha...

Let me know what you guys think. Any suggestions on future mods?

Fluid changes are on the list... I’ve only had this running for about a week.

The major things I do have done professionally, like the frame work, and paint.

semi finished product as far as reassembly goes... a few bits yet to put in, but closer to how it will look. And yes.... I’m going to pull the bumper cover, and paint the condenser black. The silver look on the condenser sucks in my opinion. It should be dark and hidden on this car...

Future mods also will be vinyl wrapping the door trim in gloss black, tinting the windows, and some other minor stuff.... I’ll update as I do some stuff.

The monochrome look with painted grill shell and other parts looks fantastic on that color. How it should have been from the factory, at least as an option. Great work!

Thanks to all for the comments.

Update on some items I’ve finished up.

I painted the chrome strip on the lower grille gloss black
A24D6F53 4567 4850 A293 CA71A3E22ED6 C6E8CA47 2DA0 4B2E 9F5B D14E58FA6A68

Installed the “SHO” fender inserts after they were painted gloss black.

67005561 9174 4A25 B252 DF39931F4B29 13E44974 913F 4CF2 B80B 313D07544DDC

Painted the replacement AC condenser black like a stock one. The aftermarket condenser was silver. And silver had to go. I used a bbq grill paint designed for high temp just in case. Yep, it’s prob gonna flake off, but I scuffed the parts I could get to and decreased them as well as I could.

1513E40D 235A 4214 8076 A53E9407DBCD 2F32E9C7 3933 4D42 AD38 F0C34789F78B D3AA1E07 2067 476D 82D7 2B568B542E63

Wrapped the chrome trim in gloss black 3m vinyl.
Before...

And while being done in the garage...

276A062D 5116 4AB2 BC20 CC0607E5AD3B 4870FAF1 A7CD 4219 9E54 C62B68E7F6AD 9696AA12 DB5F 4414 AFF5 A729DE3F5BFE 5234E8A6 94E5 4E03 B877 39267BD4AA44

I pulled the stock TAURUS SHO lettering, scuffed and painted/cleared with gloss black and reinstalled to look “OEM”ish...

Painting the letters....

4F396907 64DC 4391 94A7 5BDE40F25BA7

I bought a Lincoln MKS ecoboost emblem to keep it looking like the car could be stock to someone that doesn’t know how these were.

29DA0776 6B90 428C A912 B4C8B27C0B25

Reinstalled

BDC8F7B4 FA9D 4F21 856A A46780AAE9E2

And now I’m going to get the windows tinted. Probably going to go with 60% on the windshield, and 45% on the sides. Is that Legal? Lol I have light sensitivity...

before tint....

Where did you get your lower grill from? And did you paint it gloss black, or is it “factory”?

The lower grill is still OEM factory, just Painted.... I removed the chrome strip in it and had the body shop paint the outside lower left and right sides at the same time as the Bumper cover, hood, and fender. They charged me a bit extra for painting the Grill surround, the Outer parts of the Lower grill, and the Chrome strip on the back of the car, but not too much since it was already there for the other parts.

The tape line that they taped off and didn't paint the actual grille part is the blue arrow. This tape line gets covered by the Chrome strip that was there, I painted mine gloss black though and reinstalled

The Green arrow shows what happened when they sand/scuff the textured black plastic. Not the best look close up, but the look from a few feet away is great.

Bumper cover

I got my inspiration for it from The Old Mobsteel Grilles (Later it was known as TommyZ Designs I believe) I had one on a 2011, and it was all body color PTM.

Then the Chrome strip I scuffed, primed, painted and Clear coated with a 2K clear coat. Ive put about 5000 miles on the car and I have noticed one chip in the Black, and I was warned that the lower grille that was the Black textured plastic will most likely chip in the future because of adhesion issues/road debris. I told them that was fine to do it... Worst case, I get a new or used lower grille to replace it in the future if the paint doesn't hold up.

The Tint is done, so the exterior mods are done I would say.

It is 45% on the sides and windshield tinted to 60%. It helps a lot to keep the heat down in the summer, plus it makes the sides seem darker because there is less light let in the front of the vehicle. At least that is my theory. lol

Tint 1
Tint 2

Stright on side view of the tint
Tint 3

Now i just have to get the Plugs, 3 bar Map and Tune done.

Looking good! Only thing I'd do is remove the TAURUS lettering because it's not straight anymore and looks better without.

Now that you mentioned it the spacing is super close too, but other than that it looks awesome!

What did you use to black out the chrome? I am interested in blacking it out, and am wondering what you used to do this and how long it took. Specifically, the black around the chrome molding around the windows. I will also black out the chrome on the back end too. Id appreciate any and all help.
