What is the max that it can drop to safely? I just installed two ten inch subs and an amp in my car. I measured the voltage from the battery and with the car under max load at idle(defroster, max heat, headlights, foglights, interior lights and stereo turns up) i'm getting 12.4 volts is this ok?

You'll want to be on max AC, not heat, to put the most load on the car. 12.4 seems too low to me, but I don't have any facts to back that.

Ok, my father is a ford master tech and he is telling me it's too low as well. What would be the next step? Getting the alternator rebuilt with better guts? Or maybe another battery?
