My 95 ATX has the pulsing jerky steering wheel when cornering, I have searched and read every thread regarding vaps, I know it is a purple wire with orange stripe, the only purple/orange wire I can find on the right of the steering column is a harness with 3 wires in it that looks like it connects to a small cylinder, is this it? if so can I just unplug that harness to disable the vaps. Were does the vaps hook to the rack at, I could get under the car and unhook it. I dont want to replace my rack if it is just a bad vaps module.
I have flushed all the old fluid out and the pump isnt leaking or making any noise, so it must be the rack or the vaps.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Unplug the wireing harness that goes to the rack...under the car. That will disable VAPS...

I don't think thats your issue though. You might wanna double check that the subframe bushings and engine mounts are OK.

IF the subframe is moving during cornering...that will cause your exact symptoms.
