Before I joined the forum, I read a post on here from a guy who swapped a S550 resonator into his sho, but I cant find the thread. Is there any gains or loss if one were to swap either a 2022 S550 or 650 resonator in for the 3rd cat or with the cat? Thanks in advance.

This is the first I’ve heard about using Mustang resonators. I would bet that the S550/650 resonators are at least less restrictive than our OEM chambered resonator so it can’t be worse.

But, from personal experience, using a well made X pipe in place of the third cat and following it with straight through resonators on each side gives the smoothest sound and flow with no rasp. Drone totally depends on your mufflers.

Not entirely correct. Drone is effected by both a resonator and mufflers. That is why when guys delete the 3rd cat and resonator, they get terrible drone even with stock mufflers.

Corsa system has zero drone and it’s basically straight through from the X to the muffler tips. The OEM mufflers are chambered and they drone by design. You just need to free up the exhaust to hear the OEM mufflers drone.

In my earliest experiments with the stock exhaust, I had the best sound experience with an X pipe into a dual inlet/exit Magnaflow packed resonator. Sounded stock with more growl and turbo spool.

Perfect, just what I needed. Thanks.
