Hi,
I have a problem with my SHO since I have replaced the steering rack, the steering is very hard. I had a problem with the vaps actuator since the 4 wires on the actuator were rusted and come apart of the actuator. When I have fixed that maybe 2 wires are not at the right place...

If anybody can have a look on his SHO that would be awesome, the wires are yellow, black, green and white.
theres no way to find out on the manual shop since this wiring is in 1 part with the actuator.

please help

that can be the problem, can you explain how it was missaligned? that thing fall from the rack while removing it, I put it back in the pressure line as shown in the manual shop.

Are you able to check the color of the wires on the actuator to be sure that part is ok?

thank you very much,I really appreciate your help!

removed the check ball yesterday, looks fine, I re-installed it the other side, but there's no difference.I will remove it again and put back the way it was first.

I have installed the check ball in the pressure line(from the pump) housing in the rack, the spring on the rack side.

The system seem like it doesnt need bleeding as I did not hear air noise at first start and the level dont lower ....that's weird issues

I'd like to help, but I don't understand what wires you are talking about. When I look at the SHO's VAPS circuit in the '93 Ford Manual, as well as the pinpoint tests for that circuit, I don't see any mention of the color wires that you listed. But I guess you know that already.

What do you mean when you say that the "wiring is in 1 part with the actuator"?

Sounds like that harness is integral with the VAPS motor.

He will need another unit to compare it against.

yes, you're right, that's why I cannot get colors in manual.
If anybody can have a look at his actuator that would be great! :salute:

Maybe the rebuilt rack I have installed is defect...
I must be sure before returning it
thanks

thanks, yes The actuator is on the rack near steering shaft,It looks like a cylinder with 4 wires coming out of it.If you lift the black cap you will be able to saw the four wires: yellow, white, black and green.
Maybe I have made a mistake while I re-sold the 4 wires
If you told me the position of the wires, I will be sure that part is ok.

That would be the coolest thing happening since a while :bonk:

Maybe I can write you a check :D

Check your e-mail for pictures. As you are looking at the firewall the wires from left to right are yellow, black, white green. Does that help?
